Domain resolution
Domain resolution is the step that finds the company web domain for a list row that lacks one, working from a company name, a personal email address, or public sources, so the row can join an account.
Why is it the slowest step in list cleanup?
Event registrations often carry a personal email address or only a company name, and you can’t get the employer’s domain from either one. By hand, your team searches the company name, the postal address, and prior records for each row.
In a lead scrub, operators call it the step that eats the afternoon, as trade show lead list cleanup describes.
Why does it matter?
The domain is the key that joins a person to an account. Resolve the row, and it feeds account matching, labels, and tiers. Miss it, and the row becomes a false net-new, so your team plans around an account it already knows.
The domain also sharpens your enrichment: a name plus a domain is a much stronger lookup key than a name plus a company.
