Contact enrichment

Contact enrichment is the process of filling missing or stale fields on a person record, such as work email, title, and phone, and verifying that an email address will deliver before a team sends to it.

What does it involve?

  • Finding: a work email, title, or phone number from a data source.
  • Verifying, often called email verification: checking an address’s format, its mail server, and whether it will deliver.
  • Refreshing: updating values that go stale as people change jobs.

Track coverage and quality as separate numbers. Coverage counts the rows that gained an email. Quality counts the emails that will reach a person.

Why is it harder for event lists?

Your event lists arrive partial, often a name and a company with no email. Database lookups that start from an email or a domain come back empty on those rows, so teams chain sources in an enrichment waterfall. Some teams start with no enrichment at all.

“We actually don’t have a good way to enrich contacts at all right now.”

Where do you find it in FieldXM?

FieldXM’s automatic quick pass finds emails for you through its enrichment waterfall, free per row. For the accounts that need more, run a Deep Scan, which uses credits inside your team’s credit cap.

When FieldXM writes contacts to HubSpot or Salesforce, it fills blank fields only, so your existing values stay in place. See the full workflow on the lists and enrichment page.
