Suppression
Suppression is a standing rule that removes a contact from outreach; a do-not-contact request, an unsubscribe, a bounce, a regional rule, or a cooldown sets it, and it outranks every other signal about that contact.
What triggers suppression?
- Do not contact: a request or a legal flag that bars outreach.
- Unsubscribe: the person opted out of email.
- Bounce: the address failed to deliver.
- Region: a rule that keeps contacts in certain locations out of a program.
- Cooldown: a rest period after recent outreach, which lifts when it expires.
Why should suppression always win?
Events push you to reach everyone, and the rule still covers a suppressed contact who shows up on your attendee list. Lift a suppression only at its source, when a cooldown ends or the contact subscribes again.
If a system clears suppression by guesswork, it puts your deliverability and your standing with that person at risk. Run the check in every lead scrub.
Where do you find it in FieldXM?
FieldXM treats your suppression rules as the final word and never clears one on a guess of its own. In FieldXM’s account planning, you’ll find suppressed records rolled up under the Exclude account label.
