Account label

An account label is a single tag stating an account’s current standing with the selling team, such as net-new, in an open deal, or excluded, derived from CRM data so each account gets the right owner and play.

Check an account’s standing before its ICP tier, because standing decides the play. An open deal belongs to its account executive, a net-new account goes to whoever prospects, and a suppressed contact stays out of your outreach.

What labels does FieldXM use?

You see the label in FieldXM’s Work status column, next to the account’s CRM relationship (Customer, Prospect, Partner, and so on).

LabelMeaning
Net-newNo CRM record
ExistingIn the CRM with no recorded engagement, and your reps aren’t working it
WorkingA rep is working it now, with no open deal
SellingAn open deal
Re-engageA past engagement or deal has lapsed, and your reps aren’t working it now
ExcludeSuppressed, a competitor, a vendor, internal, or outside the ICP

Review is a holding state outside the 6 labels, and account review explains it. FieldXM’s account planning builds your plan from these labels.

Where do labels come from?

Labels come from your own CRM fields, which you map once at onboarding through field mapping. An unmapped value sends the account to Review, with the reason beside it, so you can map it or sort it by hand.

Your suppression always wins, and FieldXM never clears it on its own.

  • SuppressionSuppression is a standing rule that removes a contact from outreach; a do-not-contact request, an unsubscribe, a bounce, a regional rule, or a cooldown sets it, and it outranks every other signal about that contact.
  • ICP tierAn ICP tier is a fit band derived from an account's ideal-customer-profile score, which sorts a long account list into a few ranked groups so the best-fit accounts get attention first.
  • Field mappingField mapping is the configuration that tells a system which column or CRM property holds which piece of data, so values from a list or a customer's CRM land in the right place and mean the same thing.
  • Coverage gapA coverage gap is a target account that will be present at an event and that your team hasn't given an owner or planned outreach for, visible in the account plan before the event.
