Advance order
An advance order is an order for trade show services, such as electrical, internet, furniture, carpet, labor, and material handling, that an exhibitor places with the show’s contractors before the deadline in the exhibitor kit, at a lower rate than ordering on site.
Miss the deadline, and you usually pay a higher standard rate for the same services, and more again if you order at the service desk during move-in.
What goes into an advance order?
- Electrical, with a floor plan that shows where each outlet goes.
- Internet, wired or wireless.
- Furniture, carpet, and padding.
- Labor for installation and dismantle.
- Drayage, the material handling for your freight.
- Lead retrieval from the organizer, if your team uses it.
- Cleaning, and rigging for any hanging sign.
How do you hit every advance deadline?
- Open the exhibitor kit the week you sign for the show, and put each deadline on your team’s calendar.
- Give one person the orders for each show.
- Keep every confirmation, and check each order at the service desk when you arrive for move-in.
Where do you find it in FieldXM?
In FieldXM’s event logistics, you keep dates from the exhibitor kit on the event, such as the receiving cutoff and the move-in and move-out dates, beside your shipments, travel, and booth shifts.
