Event readiness
Event readiness is a per-event state, on track or needs attention, that rolls up what a show needs before it opens, such as a team roster, an attendee list, account owners, and a link to the event in the CRM.
Readiness turns a task list into a judgment. Your list says what remains, and the readiness state says whether the show is in trouble. That matters most at volume. If your team is running toward the 50-event ceiling, you have 6 to 8 shows in flight and can’t read every checklist every morning.
What does readiness roll up?
The set grows with your process. A common starting set, roughly in the order it falls due:
- Setup: your team roster is in place for the show.
- Audience: you import the attendee list, or confirm the show has none.
- Ownership: every Strategic and Target account present has an owner, so your coverage gap is zero.
- CRM link: the event links to its HubSpot marketing event or Salesforce campaign, so attendance and meetings land where your CRM reports on them.
Why does it matter?
Before an event, problems stay silent. Your checklist won’t tell you that your reps never got the list, or that outreach started a week out. You find out at the show, when prospects already have plans for the evening.
You need at least a readiness state to see where each event needs your attention. It’s also the building block of a portfolio view: which shows need attention this week, and which are behind.

How do you recognize it in practice?
You have readiness when you can read off a screen whether next month’s show is ready. In FieldXM, it’s part of the daily view your team plans from, as How FieldXM works shows. The event operations maturity model places it at the coordinated stage.
