Booth staffing

Booth staffing is the plan for who works a trade show booth and when, in shifts across the show’s hours, which decides who is standing there when a target account walks up.

Staffing is the part of your event logistics with a direct line to revenue: the reps on shift capture each conversation, or lose it.

Why does the roster matter?

Your capture results move with who staffs the booth, and with whether a manager enforces capture.

Plan the late days too. On a 2,000-exhibitor floor the FieldXM founder walked, several exhibitors’ marketing staff had gone home by day 3. Their sellers had to capture and route leads alone.

“You just have to hope and pray that like the people who are at the booth recognize that’s a VIP situation. Not ideal.”

What does a staffing plan cover?

  • Shifts across the show’s hours, including the opening rush.
  • Roles: booth, meetings, roaming, and partner time.
  • An owner on shift, or on call, for each target account you expect at the show.
  • A capture routine your non-sales staff can follow, to limit capture failure.

Where do you find it in FieldXM?

In FieldXM’s event logistics, you keep booth shifts on the event with the roster, and a staffed booth counts toward the event’s readiness signal.
