CRM write-back

CRM write-back is the outbound half of a CRM integration, the step where a connected tool creates or updates CRM records such as contacts, companies, notes, and event attendance.

Write-back is how a booth conversation reaches your CRM with its context. It’s also the half of the integration that changes the data your sales team, RevOps, and reports depend on. Your CRM owners review it most closely.

“Like, oh my gosh, none. The conversation itself, definitely not.”

What makes write-back safe?

  • A write plan shows you every change before it lands, as creates, updates, and skips.
  • The tool matches records on declared match keys, so each captured person lands on the right record already in your CRM.
  • A named commit ties each write to the person who approved it.
  • By default, each write fills only blank fields, so it adds what your CRM lacks and leaves your existing values in place.

How does FieldXM handle it?

What your reps capture in the FieldXM mobile app lands in the event’s account workspace as captured contacts. FieldXM writes each lead to your CRM with the conversation attached. It matches on your declared match keys, so it updates the record you already have.

FieldXM fills only blank fields on your contacts and companies, keeps its own fields current, and writes notes and event attendance to HubSpot or Salesforce. Your reps book meetings at the booth straight into your CRM, tied to the event, with no approval step.

When FieldXM reads from your CRM, it never changes anything there. See how FieldXM writes to your CRM, in your own fields.
