Named commit
A named commit is an approval step some CRM write-back tools use, where an identified person authorizes a previewed delivery so each change traces to a decision.
The write plan shows you what would change. In a named commit, a specific person on your team approves it before the tool changes your CRM.
Why does the name matter?
A surprising change in your CRM raises 2 questions: who approved it, and what did they see. A commit tied to a person answers both. With one, you see each delivery’s name, the person who approved it, and a receipt for every change that landed.
It also keeps each write deliberate. A commit changes data your other teams rely on. So the person accountable for that data reviews the plan against declared match keys and makes the call.
How does FieldXM write to your CRM?
FieldXM writes each lead your reps capture to HubSpot or Salesforce through CRM write-back, with the conversation attached. The declared match keys tell it which existing record to update, so FieldXM updates a contact you already have in place.
On your contacts and companies, FieldXM fills only the blank fields and keeps its own fields current. Booth meetings skip the commit step: your rep books one, and it lands in your CRM tied to the show. When FieldXM reads your CRM, it never changes it.
When you use Ask FieldXM to change a record, it follows your team’s approval gate rules, and FieldXM keeps a full audit log for you. See how FieldXM writes to your CRM.
