Closed-loop reporting
Closed-loop reporting is reporting that ties each captured interaction to what followed it, from lead to meeting, opportunity, and closed-won revenue, so results trace back to the event or program behind them.
You close the loop when marketing’s record of the interaction and sales’ record of the outcome meet on the same lead. At your events, that takes a capture path, an owner, and a CRM link that hold up through the weeks between the booth and the deal.
What does a closed loop look like for one lead?
Follow one lead. Your rep meets a buyer at your booth in June, captures the conversation, and books a meeting for the next week. The meeting turns into an opportunity in July, and the deal closes in October.
With the loop closed, your report credits the show with that opportunity as event-sourced pipeline in July and as revenue in October. With the loop open, the opportunity shows up in your CRM with no link to the show, and your events line never sees it.
What breaks the loop?
- Conversations that never reach your CRM: the event capture gap.
- Leads your reps work outside the capture path: the attribution leak.
- Leads with no link to the event in your CRM, which campaign association supplies.
- Leads another rep claims after the lead-steal window opens.

What does FieldXM report?
See leads captured, match rate, meetings booked, attempt rate, SLA compliance, pipeline, and closed-won, by event, rep, and team. Your report keeps event-sourced and event-influenced results apart.
FieldXM’s reporting also flags the CRM records from your event that skipped capture, so your events leader can review them. Measure every dollar makes the case for recording your team’s work as it happens.

- Campaign associationCampaign association is the link between a person or deal in the CRM and the campaign or event object that represents a program, the connection attribution reports read to credit an event.
- Event yieldEvent yield is what an event produced, in meetings, pipeline, and closed-won revenue, as the connected record of the plan, the conversations, and the follow-up shows it.
