Recording disclosure

A recording disclosure is the short spoken statement a rep makes before recording a conversation, telling the prospect that an AI note-taker will record and transcribe it and checking that this is alright.

It’s how your rep asks for consent to conversation capture. Your rep says it out loud, before recording starts, in every conversation they record.

What makes a good disclosure?

  • It names the AI as well as the recording, so the prospect knows an AI writes the notes.
  • It is plain and brief, and your rep says it the way they’d mention it to a friend.
  • It gives the prospect a real choice. If they decline, your rep takes notes by hand or adds a voice note afterward, and the conversation continues.
  • It is the same in every conversation, so your reps never have to judge when it applies.

How do your reps get comfortable with it?

The usual worry sits with your reps: that asking will feel awkward or slow the conversation down. It goes best when your rep raises it early and naturally. So put the script in rep onboarding, before the first capture.

Where do you find it in FieldXM?

In the FieldXM mobile app, your rep says a one-sentence disclosure before every recording and confirms it in the app. FieldXM keeps a record of each confirmation for you, by rep and by event, or by session when there’s no event. It deletes the audio as soon as it writes the notes.
