Hosted event

A hosted event is an in-person event a company organizes itself, such as a dinner, workshop, roadshow stop, or user conference, where the company controls the guest list, the venue, and the agenda.

In-person GTM covers hosted events alongside trade shows. You can host them next to a major show as satellite events, or on their own.

What changes when you host?

You own the guest list, so your invite list becomes the plan and every seat is a targeting decision. Your work before the event is list work: choose accounts from your CRM, invite early, and track who accepted.

Capture changes too. Your hosts don’t have a scanner at an executive dinner table, so your record depends on them writing down what each guest said, ideally the same night.

How do you plan one dinner?

Say you host a dinner for 14 guests the night before a show opens.

  1. Pick the accounts. Start from your target accounts at the show, and invite about three people for every seat, since some will decline.
  2. Seat with a purpose. Give each table a host from your team who owns the accounts at it, or knows them well.
  3. Confirm twice. Send a reminder the day before, and keep a short wait list for late declines.
  4. Debrief the same night. Get one line per guest from the host who sat with them: what they need, and the next step.
  5. Follow up from the parent show. Credit the dinner’s pipeline to the show it sat beside, and report the dinner on its own too.

Where do you find it in FieldXM?

Build your guest list in FieldXM’s lists and enrichment. Filter by list membership, lifecycle stage, last contacted, or distance from the venue, and every row keeps a label that shows its source.

Your reps can capture in the FieldXM mobile app even without an event. A hallway conversation or an unplanned dinner still lands in the account workspace on the web.
