Cross-event memory
Cross-event memory is a company’s retained record of its past events, including spend, attendees, conversations, follow-up, and results, which the company holds so that each event informs the next.
Today, most of it lives in your team’s heads. It stays with the operators who ran the shows and leaves when they do. That’s the risk every heroic operator carries.
What does it hold?
- What each event cost.
- Which accounts attended, and which engaged.
- What people said, who said it, and what they agreed.
- Whether follow-up happened, and what it produced.
- Each contact’s history across shows, such as scans at 2 earlier events that the lead’s current owner should see.
Why does it matter?
Keep that record, and each event teaches the next. Your rep sees a contact’s history from earlier shows, and your team gets its own evidence for event qualification and for shaping your event portfolio.
Your team can follow up fast and still lose this history when the record lives in people’s heads. Build vs. operate explains why a personal tool can’t keep it.
